INTERMEDIO Y AVANZADO

What level is right for you?

While it's easy to identify yourself as a beginner, it's a real challenge to figure out where you fall in that wide spectrum beyond beginner. We don't expect you to know which of our levels is right for you, we only expect you to take an initial guess.

Intermediate
Starting at this level is likely to be the right choice if your classroom experience with Spanish
is 'not insignificant.' When communicating complex ideas, you may find yourself thinking too
much, and you may be more comfortable expressing yourself in writing; you'd like to pick up
your speed speaking.

High Intermediate
Starting at this level is likely to be the right choice if your classroom experience with Spanish
is significant. You're still probably better at expressing yourself in writing, so you need to pick
up your speed speaking. When it comes to advanced structures, you have studied most of them,
but are not confident in using many of them.

Advanced
This level is likely to be the right choice if you are quite good in Spanish, whether you have spent
years studying it, or simply are very talented with languages. You can express yourself well in
many situations, even if your spoken use of advanced structures is limited or shaky. In your class-
room experience, you have studied and been tested on the most advanced concepts of Spanish,
but at times you still feel like you're being held back by some clunky, inefficient thought processes
to come up with the right way to say what you want.

Remember: you can consider yourself an advanced student, even if you don't consider yourself
an advanced speaker.

Why isn't our schedule posted on line?

We don't follow a Field-of-Dreams-if-you-build-it-they-will-come approach to scheduling. Why not? Because we avoid what happens at many language schools: a significant number of pre-scheduled classes (especially those at upper levels!) are cancelled at the last minute due to low enrollment.

We always have a steady stream of interested students at all levels, so our approach to scheduling works well. A new group starts when we hit the minimum of 3, and depending on the classroom, maxes out at 5 to 8.

For all levels, we guarantee thoughtful and personalized placement.

We may suggest visiting a group in progress

We also have many groups in progress that are at various points throughout the Spanish Circle program. We may suggest a 3-lesson trial (and we only suggest a trial if we are quite sure the group will be a good fit for you).

High Intermediate & Advanced Seminars

We also routinely schedule short-term (2- to 6-lesson) seminars to tackle problematic structures and gaps that may be holding you back. They are conducted primarily in Spanish, mix grammar and conversation, and are guaranteed to help significantly improve your fluency and accuracy.
